  1. Having never watch this movie before, in the short amount we watched, I was not able to identify who the hero is yet but it was easy to discern the good side from the bad and the villain. Also the graphics and quality of the movie were better than I expected, for a movie made during that time. I believe it shows why George Lucas is considered a hero in his own way, not only for the graphics and quality but ideas and innovation that these characters and story line brought.

  2. What I have found interesting in the Star Wars universe is that the most recognized character is not at all the protagonist, but rather Darth Vader, who is regarded as the epitome of a villain and up there as one of the ultimate villains in film. In fact, he, not Luke Skywalker, is the one on the right reaching his hand out to me as I type this. During the Halloween parade especially, one can't help but notice all the miniature Vaders walking by (including me in the 3rd grade). People, especially children, seem more attracted to the villain in the series than the hero, a phenomenon I can't think of anywhere else aside from some horror stories. Is it because Vader simply looks sleek and intimidating compared to Anakin/Luke's "farmboy" appearance? Maybe; I'm not sure. But having a villain as the face of the franchise is something both odd and interesting at the same time.

    1. Good point. Kids are really more likely to dress as characters that they see as strong, powerful, and "cool." We see Superman, Batman, Hulk, etc. during Halloween. (Something you'll appreciate, Josh) When you go to Indians games what type of jerseys do you see from the movie Major League? You see Rick Vaughn jerseys. You never see Jake Taylor jerseys even though Taylor is really the main hero of the story. Even I have a Parkman jersey because people would think that I'm a pretty dull person if I went to an Indians game in a Taylor jersey. I may even be laughed at because Taylor is such an old loser. The cooler heroes are what we dress as and if the main hero doesn't look cool, then we'll go as far as to dress as the villain of the story. This is how we show our appreciation for the Star Wars trilogy.
