Throughout chapter eight you see the return of the night owl and his newly found friend Laurie. The Night Owl/Dan and Laurie are able to save people from a burning building and the break rorschach out of prison. During this chapter the retired version of the Night Owl or Hollis Mason makes a surprise phone call to an old friend Sally Jupiter. They seemed to pick up right where they left off. Dan seems to become more and more worried about the, "masked murderer". Do you think that rorschach is getting to Dan and will continue to do so in the last couple of chapters? Will Jon come back to earth to help? Will Laurie stay with Dan or go back to Jon? So many questions that need to be answered in the last couple of chapters. Can you anticipate what's going to happen?

It's hard to predict what is going to happen due to the mysterious nature of the book, but I do think that Rorschach is getting to Dan. I don't think that Dan would have broken him out if he hadn't. As for Laurie, I think that she's trying to deny this "mask murderer", but she will have to come to terms with it.
ReplyDeleteAgreed Sean. This book is full of so many twists and turns and plot twists and character flip-flops that it's impossible to accurately predict where the book will take us next. I think Dan is certainly getting rattled about the "mask murderer" and it will be very interesting to see if this conspiracy that Rorschach has come up with will be true or not. Also, I certainly hope Jon will come back to help, but it's possible he will be incapable of doing anything. As for Laurie, I don't know if she stays with Dan or Jon. She doesn't seem to know what she wants. Overall, I'm very excited to see where the final chapters of the book take us.
ReplyDeleteI think that Rorschach will convince Dan of the masked murderer. I can see Rorschach and dan teaming up, along with John, to defeat this masked murderer. I wonder what Rorschach's view about Dan quitting his super hero job are, now that Rorschach has been broken out of prison by him.
DeleteI agree that this book has had so many surprises that the audience doesn't see coming so it's hard to anticipate what might happen. However, I do think that Jon will convince Laurie to come back to him. At this point in the book, Laurie is confused and unsure about what she should do and I think she's accompanying Dan on all of his adventures to try and forget about Jon. I think it will come down to Dr. Manhattan in the end and whether he can use his powers in a way that will positively affect the people.
